If you're diving deep into Fallout 76 and trying to build up your Caps stash, you’ve probably realized that the traditional routes—looting, selling junk, and doing events—only go so far. That’s where vendor farming comes in. The in-game vendors, scattered across Appalachia, can be your best source for earning Caps fast—if you know where to look.

In this guide, I’m sharing 16 lesser-known or often-overlooked vendor locations that can help you farm Caps more efficiently. Whether you're selling gear or trading for cheap Fallout 76 items, these vendors can be part of your daily route to boost your profits and lighten your inventory.

1. Berkeley Springs Station

Hidden in the Mire, this vendor isn’t on many players' radar. With fewer visitors, you can often offload more valuable items without worrying about caps already being drained.

2. Watoga Station

This one's easy to miss since players tend to go for Watoga Shopping Plaza. But the train station vendor nearby is a separate unit with its own cap pool.

3. Pleasant Valley Station

Tucked between Top of the World and the Savage Divide, this spot is usually quiet. The vendor here is reliable for both buying and selling, especially if you're loaded with weapons or chems.

4. Grafton Station

Although it’s close to an event hotspot, Grafton’s vendor is underutilized. Great for selling armor and picking up cheap Fallout 76 caps from leftover vendor budget.

5. Whitespring Bunker - Production Wing

This location houses several Enclave vendors. While more well-known, it’s often forgotten by casual players. Each vendor has a separate inventory and cap reserve.

6. Foundation

This is the Settler hub in the south. The vendor here has a decent pool of caps and tends to offer better trade prices, especially if you've boosted reputation with the Settlers.

7. Crater

Raiders might not be your best friends, but their vendor will gladly take your junk. Another good spot for unloading high-value weapons or armor.

8. Harper’s Ferry

Many head here for the event or the loot, but the vendor tucked away inside a building is an easy miss. Perfect for grabbing or selling cheap Fallout 76 items.

9. The Rusty Pick

This bar in the Ash Heap has more than just legendary scrip. The vendor here accepts a good range of items, and you’ll rarely find it capped out.

10. Charleston Station

Often overshadowed by the Capitol Building, this little vendor station still offers full cap exchanges and a quick pit stop in the south-central region.

11. Sutton Station

Located just north of Flatwoods, this vendor is easy to reach early in the game and stays useful later on for quick trades.

12. Camden Park

Better known for its carnival charm, this spot also has a vendor bot that’s frequently ignored. It's a fun little stop with a full cap stash.

13. Watoga High School Vendor (Inside Daily Ops Area)

When doing Daily Ops in Watoga, check the vendor terminal inside. It's out of the way and easy to overlook, but the cap pool is real.

14. R&G Station

You’ll find this small vendor hub in the Mire. It’s quiet and rarely farmed, so odds are good you’ll be able to sell most of your goods here without a cap shortage.

15. Fort Atlas

Brotherhood fans already know this place, but the vendor near the entrance has a full pool. Not the most secret, but often overlooked due to event distractions.

16. Lewisburg Station

Right in the heart of Ash Heap. Not many bother stopping here unless they’re questing nearby. That makes it a perfect spot for a quiet trade run.

Bonus Tips for Efficient Vendor Runs:

  • Rotate Vendors Daily: Caps reset roughly every 20 in-game hours, so spread your sales across multiple vendors in one session.

  • Sort Items by Value-to-Weight Ratio: Don’t waste vendor caps on junk—sell high-value weapons, rare apparel, and chems.

  • Check Player Vendors: While this guide is about in-game NPC vendors, some player camps offer cheap Fallout 76 items or buy gear for decent caps.

Vendor farming isn’t the flashiest part of the game, but it’s one of the most consistent ways to build wealth, fund crafting, and stay stocked up on essentials. Whether you're a seasoned Wastelander or just starting out, learning where and when to sell can make all the difference.
